WHY SEAWATER
The Ocean is More Than a Battlefield. It's an Energy Resource.
The world’s oceans contain the essential building blocks needed to produce synthetic aviation fuel. Dissolved inorganic carbon provides the carbon source, while water provides the hydrogen produced through electrolysis. Together, these feedstocks can be converted into hydrocarbons and upgraded toward the demanding specifications required for naval aviation fuel.
For naval operations, seawater represents a nearly limitless feedstock available wherever maritime missions occur. Instead of relying exclusively on vulnerable transportation networks, fuel production can move closer to the point of need.
Using seawater as a feedstock creates the opportunity to rethink fuel logistics—from transporting fuel across oceans to producing it at sea. That shift has the potential to strengthen operational resilience, improve energy security and reduce dependence on fragile global supply chains.

Today’s operating model depends on ships, aircraft, ports, storage and transport assets to move fuel from centralized production to the point of need. Rather than replacing existing fuel infrastructure, Sea Dragon Energy is developing a new capability that complements today’s logistics systems while creating new options for tomorrow’s operational environment.
